Daria is an American teen animated series that depicts the highschool experience in the late 90s early 2000s through the cynical and witty eyes of the titular character of Daria. Originally starting out as a spin-off of Beavis and Butthead, it soon became one of the most recognizable cartoons to air on MTV, and is also kind of my favorite show of all time.

I remember first watching Daria during a very formative period of my life, around early middle school. At this time I was really just getting into animation, or at least many programs that were not currently airing. Ultimately, I became incredibly in love with the series soon after, finding that Daria as a character was someone I saw myself in but also looked up to when it came to her intelligence, her morals, and her oftentimes understated capacity to admit when she was wrong. She was everything I was except much cooler. Even shrouded in her pessimism seeing her have such a great friendship with Jane gave me hope that despite being seen as weird or offputting by some, I could still find my footing and find people that truly appreciate me for me..... This got sappy real fast
